Buyer guide

Build a flower export pack that a buyer can approve

A product name does not define a complete export pack. Buyers and suppliers should record the inner pack, outer carton, count, weights, labels and route assumptions before packing begins.

01

Product presentation

Record bunch size or net weight, stem alignment, sleeves or wraps, ties, hydration method and separation of colours or grades. Loose flowers need a weight and protection specification rather than a stem table.

02

Inner protection

State liners, absorbent materials, cushioning, dividers, individual covers or moisture barriers only where suitable for the product and route. Materials should not create avoidable condensation or compression.

03

Outer carton

Record carton style, internal and external dimensions, board specification, ventilation, orientation, pack count, net weight, gross weight and stacking limits. Carrier restrictions should be checked before approval.

04

Marks and traceability

Agree product description, lot or packing reference, quantity, country of origin, consignee marks, handling symbols, barcode or buyer label and any destination-required marks.

05

Approval record

Approve a packing sheet, photographs or sample pack where necessary. Any substitution in material, count or dimensions should be documented before dispatch.
